Here is a list and introduction to the releases by my bands. So far we've released 5 studio albums, 2 live albums, 4 extended plays and several singles.

This discography is split between a few different projects under separate names, each reflecting the time of life or the set of bandmates the music was made with, or both.
I first began making music out of an infatuation with the medium of the album. I had listened to so many and wanted to make my own, to give something back to the lineage of cultural artefacts that had accompanied me through my teenage years. So before even knowing how to play any instruments I began obsessing over ideas and concepts.
There's always been a long time gap between the conception / composition of music and the releases - it's difficult to know what the ultimate potential of a song is and when its final state has been reached. Performing live with bands helps the decision making involved with the recording process and over time I've been seeking more collaborative and less insular approaches - although I am still sometimes drawn to weird ideas which are best explored in solitude.

- Hesitate
- All Gone in Flames
- Patterns
- No Answer
- Last Year
- More Time
- Now, Then
If (hypothetically) when starting Dimensions in June 2022 we set out to make an album straight away - instead of testing the waters with singles and EPs as most bands do - this is probably the album we would have made featuring the songs we played in our first year as a band, with a tracklist sequenced to reflect a typical setlist.
The truth however is that we wouldn't have been capable of making this album had we not made the mistakes we made in our first releases - which taught us a lot about how we enjoy working in the recording studio. I don't hate the original versions of of
Now, Then / Faster Than a Rocket and the
Triangle EP (which were recorded as single live takes), but I do feel that the performances mostly come across as rushed, with lots of little inaccuracies that bother me - and the mixing is somewhat cluttered.
The original single and EP were recorded in Snorkel Studios with Nainesh Shah (of Flotation Toy Warning) - a nice studio in Forest Hill recommended to me by Freddie who had recorded an album with his band
ava there. For the making of
Hypothetical Album we had a further session in early 2024 to track the drum and bass parts for 4 more songs. We also obtained the stems for 6 of the previously recorded songs and subsequently worked on the tracks in mine or Chris's flats.
The first year of this band was plagued with numerous lineup changes - this is mostly due to my own indecision about what I wanted the project to be. When I first involved Chris and Freddie I intended for us to play my songs under my own name (Frankie D) but soon after hearing how we sounded together and the creative energy both of them brought I realised this was better suited to be treated as a band - initially Frankie & the x Dimensions, and eventually just Dimensions.
In addition to the core trio we involved Courtney on backing vocals and percussions, Wil on violin, and Lewis on keys - however after a particularly disastrous show at the Windmill we decided to strip it back down and subsequently involved Bex on backing vocals and keys. Hypothetical Album features everybody who played with us in that period - it is the ultimate summary of what this band was during it's fraught first phase - which is quite different from the vision we pursued later on.

An Image of a Square is an attempt to capture the frustrations of the every day, to feel unexpressed, misunderstood or like you're trapped in a box and about to explode. Songs written in the latter half of pandemic times, not long before starting the band.
When first starting Dimensions I sent Chris and Freddie the demos for this album - at the time I didn't really know what to do to bring these songs to a standard where I would have felt comfortable releasing them. We ended up arranging and playing 7 of them live but there were aspects of my original demos that never felt very band-friendly and were never attempted.
For a long time I was conflicted about whether this album, as it was originally conceived, should ever see the light of day. Eventually in 2025 I decided it would be a good idea to just work on these demos a bit more myself - taking some inspiration from the beats, basslines and melodies written by members of the band - to create a sort of whacky alternative version to
Hypothetical Album played entirely by me.

The songs that make up the 2nd Kaspar Hauser album came to me very spontaneously between 2018 and 2020. At the time I was living in London and would try out this material at open mics around the city, most frequently Pentameters Theatre in Hampstead or MAP Studio Cafe in Kentish Town. While being quite abstract and philosophical, these songs were to some extent inspired by a couple of things:
- My first serious relationship
- Going through therapy to recover from a nasty fright
I inadvertently introduced a common theme of a ghost running through most tracks, I'm not sure what this represents, perhaps a previous version of the self or a close friend I lost touch with.
We've been playing some of these songs since the
Kaspar Hauser live band started in 2022, with 4 of them initially released in our
Songs About Birds EP (2023).
Almost all tracks from The Pink Parade were road-tested and arranged as a 5-piece band - myself on guitar and vocals, Wil on violin or keys, Rosanna on backing vocals, cello or keys, Ben on bass and Pitt on drums. It leans more into indie rock / pop territory than our previous album by having more conventional song structures (with the exception of prog epic The Frog Entered the Window). While more simple, the album is also less bloated and more confident in its arrangement choices.

This record is something I started working on in 2017 when living in Durham. While crossing a bridge over the river Wear on a grey morning I was feeling emotional and took this picture. From the photograph I was inspired to scribble down a track listing of song titles that reflected a spiritual journey of some sort.
I finished writing the songs just over a year later and in the autumn of 2018 would often play this album in full on guitar to myself, or the odd song to strangers at open mics, then shelved the project and moved on. I first revisited these songs in 2020 to make demos and experiment with some arrangement ideas but then shelved it again.
Since starting the Kaspar Hauser live band we've been performing 5 of the tunes (Flowing Back to You, Ever Changing Truth, Open Up, Ruined Churches and Lighter Than a Feather) - the others were unknown to Wil and Rosanna until the recording sessions. I no longer relate to some of the songs/lyrics on this record but decided out of loyalty towards the younger me to honour the original vision for the album and to release it exactly as was initially conceived with these 12 tracks in this order.

Not For Human Consumption is a collection of songs I wrote between 2015 and 2016. At the time I created these with 3 separate releases in mind, although in each case I ended up feeling that it wasn't good so I never released them, or even shared them with anyone.
In early 2022 upon re-listening to all the Fear Asparagus material on my hard drive I decided that it was still appealing as a piece of outsider art, particularly when listening to the songs consecutively. The naivety and rawness of each of the tracks is intense, and perhaps jarring to the untrained ear - but after acclimatising it's possible to get lost in the core melodic ideas and sound worlds and forget how unprofessional, poorly performed and recorded it is.
